Fruits of "sharin-bai", Rhaphiolepis umbellata (about 10mm in diameter) using the hedges. 2002.12.27 [2002.12.24]



A small mantis, Statilia maculata, on a stone wall (about 5cm in body length). 2002.11.18 [2002.11.16]



A tree, "yabu-kouji", Ardisia japonica, by the mountain path (about 10cm in height). 2002.11.18 [2002.11.16]



A flower, "koya-bouki", Pertya scandens, by the mountain path (about 2cm in diameter). 2002.10.20 [2002.10.19]



A "fairy ring" (about 2.5m in diameter) consists of mushrooms (unknown species to me) on the ground. 2002.10.11 [2002.10.09]

A kind of jellyfish, Porpita pacifica (about 2cm in diameter), and a kind of planktonic snail, Violetta globasa (?) (about 3mm in shell height), washed up on a sandy beach. 2002.07.24 [2002.07.20]

This species seems to be a common slimemold.



A mushroom, Lentinus lepideus (about 7-8cm in diameter), on the pine stump by the mountain path. 2002.06.09 [2002.06.09]



Curious cocoons, adhering to a trunk of a tree (about 15-20mm in length, 10mm in width). 2002.06.03 [2002.06.02]
These seems to be the cocoons (after emergence) of a kind of sting-moth, Parasa lepida.



A small long-horned beetle, Paraglenea fortunei (about 15mm in body length), on the leaf. 2002.06.03 [2002.06.01]



Small flowers, Sherardia arvensis (about 3mm in diameter), by the town path. 2002.05.23 [2002.05.20,21]



A kind of sea anemone, Anthopleura uchidai (about 40mm in diameter), settled on the rocky shore. 2002.04.23 [2002.04.20]
