A shell of golden cuttlefish, Sepia esculenta ("kou-ika")(about 12cm in length) 2008.11.25 [2008.11.24]
There are many striped patterns on the reverse side of the shell such as the annual ring of woods.

A fruit of Japanese yew, Podocarpus macrophyllus ("inu-maki")(about 2cm in length) 2008.10.21 [2008.10.21]
It looks like a Japanese "kokeshi" doll.
